Dr. Su Lien-Wen

Medical career overview: 
Graduated from Taipei Medical College in 1985 and obtained a medical license. After being discharged from the military in 1987, he received residency and psychiatric training at Taipei Municipal Nursing Home. In 1991, he obtained his psychiatric specialist qualification. In 1992, he applied for funding from the Department of Health to study drug abuse science and drug addiction treatment at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Addiction Research Center (NIDA ARC). After returning to Taiwan from the ARC in 1993, he served as the chief physician in the addiction prevention and treatment department. In psychiatric medicine, he focused on clinical work in drug addiction treatment, developed drug addiction treatment models, and participated in judicial and policy issues related to drug abuse. Obtained a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in 2004 In 2005, the Municipal Nursing Home was merged into the Taipei Municipal United Hospital of Medical Ethics. After obtaining a master's degree in medical policy and management, he served as the director of the Addiction Prevention and Control Department until July 2013. After resigning as director, he served as the executive secretary of the Taipei City Drug Hazard Control Center. In 2015, the work of the Drug Control Center was transferred to the Kunming Prevention and Control Center of the Taipei Municipal United Hospital and served as deputy director. He retired from public service in June 2019 and continued to serve as a part-time medical officer at the United Hospital. He also cooperated with the Libertas Education Foundation to promote drug addiction treatment community programs and related businesses, and continued to develop alcohol and drug addiction professionals and mental health care. At the end of 2021, he joined the Psychiatry Department of Shuang Ho Hospital. In 2022, he served as an adjunct associate professor in the Master's Program in Addiction Prevention at the College of Education, National Taiwan Normal University.
